New Silver Spring

I grew up in Silver Spring in the 1970's and 1980's and as I keep telling everyone, it's no longer the Silver Spring I grew up in. Here are some prime examples, and some places that haven't changed in 30 years.

I still miss Champions Billiards. The smoke, the hustlers, the late night/very early morning pool games. Some things will never be the same.

I think Champions is still there, though like the rest of Montgomery County it's likely smoke-free.

I don't think they changed the name of the city, that's just a marketing ploy. Though I have heard of downtown called "The Sprung" on some blogs... Crazy kids.
