I think I have a problem

And that problem is Grocery Stores. How many do you visit on a weekly basis, here's my list:

  • Giant - close by, self checkout, has basic traditional American products
  • Safeway - sometimes we're in that neighborhood, much like Giant but more Organic selections
  • Whole Foods - lots of Organic cruelty free type stuff, and great cheese selection
  • Trader Joe's - just has things no one else seems to carry
  • Kam Sam - Chinese Grocery right around the corner for basic Asian products
  • Asian Market - Farther away but with better Indonesian selection
  • Grand Mart - Korean supermarket way up in Gaithertucky, but really great produce
  • Shah & Patel - Indopak groceries that no one else carries
  • Lezzet - Turkish dry goods, only they have the super awesome sour cherry juice that I'm growing to love
  • Rockville Gourmet Halal Meat Market - super butcher even if you aren't Islamic in your leanings

And those are just the regular spots, then sometimes we'll stop into a specialty market like

Where do you shop?

I'll stop by Safeway, Nob Hill and Whole Foods at least once a week, TJ's, Andronico's and CostCo perhaps once a month. But you've got me beat!

Gaithertucky. I love it.

I go to Harris Teeter weekly, and the A-1 Indian Grocer about monthly. Maybe yearly, I go to Whole Foods or the Chinese supermarket in Annandale.

I've been to Shah & Patel. You absolutely must check out Caribbean Feast across the street. Especially if you like spicy food -- the "hot" jerk chicken makes my eyes water. Instead, I usually go with a beef patty, some ox tail or goat curry, some sides, some corn bread and this juice/milkshake thing called "Sea Moss".

I kid you not, I have timed trips to Montgomery County specifically to allow me a meal there.

You'll have to let me know when you are in the neighborhood, I'm living about 7-8 blocks from Caribbean Feast.

I tried the cuban place next to it, but perhaps I was supposed to try that place. I haven't had good Jamaican style curried goat in a long time, perhaps I need to do something about that.

Oh, if yearly frequencies or outdoor markets count, I should add:

* Rockville Farmer's Market
* Balducci's
* Wegman's

None are frequented too often, but they all have excelent quality in a select number of items that no one else seems to carry.
