Eid ul Fitr Announcement

Apparently ISNA won't wait to see if the impossible might happen:

All astronomical data indicates that it will be impossible for the crescent to be sighted anywhere in the world on the evening of Friday, November 12. Therefore, Eid-al-Fitr in North America will be on Sunday, November 14, 2004, insha'Allah.

We should totally do lunch again.

But of course!

Have you found any places that you're really keen on yet?

No, I've found the places around here to be pretty humdrum.

I do like Julia's Empanadas and Mayur Kabob, though. And I'm pretty sure that there are good restaurants hiding from me.

No way I'll walk all the way to Dupont, Adams Morgan or Chinatown until the weather gets a lot nicer.

If I had a nickel for every time I told people that I wanted to try lunch at Julia's Empanadas...Well at least now I can say I've heard that it's OK.

Julia's empanadas themselves are predictably good - not amazing, not bad, but good and reasonably priced. I would like to point out that one of the managers ruins customer's experiences: I do not ever want to go to the Julia's Empanadas on Vermont Avenue/15th street and K Street. The manager is rude and treats customers brusquely.
