Sudsy Adult Swim

Adult swim is about to get sudsier than ever:

The Boondocks, a new animated television comedy based on Aaron McGruder's award-winning comic strip of the same name, will join Adult Swim, Cartoon Network's late-night block of animation for adults this fall. Cartoon Network has ordered 15 half-hour episodes of the series, and like the comic strip, The Boondocks is a provocative family-based comedy brimming with social relevance and satire.

A quick scan of the Sunday comics quickly reveals that the only one worth reading is The Boondocks, and this deal will ensure that I can continue to shun all newspaper based information.

Oh no! Not this piece of political outrage disguised as a cartoon. I've seen this thing a few times and I honestly think it doesn't belong on the front page of the Sunday comics section. It should be on the op-ed page.

I read the comics to relax and have a laugh, and this cartoon bothers me more than the lone vegetarian who manages to get invited to that one awkward cookout every summer. "Do you know that cow had feelings?" Do I look like I give a sh*t? Now shut up and pass me the buns.

If I want to be beat over the head with someone's outrage every Sunday morning I'll watch Chris Matthews. I'd rather read Ziggy that this junk.

Wow.

Someone piss in your wheaties? I think there's a Boondocks about that...

And isn't satire the highest form of humor?

It was you!

Maybe I haven't read enough of this comic, but it's never come off as satire to me. I've always found it to be preachy and self-indulgent to a fault. These are the people that neutered Marmaduke.
