What crow can fly that far?

So far far away:

Distance between Washington, District of Columbia, United States and Ujung Pandang, Indonesia [ed: now known as Makassar], as the crow flies: 9883 miles (15905 km) (8588 nautical miles) Initial heading from Washington to Ujung Pandang: north-northwest (332.1 degrees) Initial heading from Ujung Pandang to Washington: north-northeast (21.5 degrees)

[ How Far is It ]

Which is just a bit farther than from DC to San Jose, CA, and back — twice.

I think that saying is stupid... I mean, have you ever seen a crow fly? Well I have, and it goes nowhere near straight. Mostly is flys around and poops, without any sort of a plan, and then it just lands on trees and electical wires. So in fact, if you were to take a crow to Makassar, it would probably take much longer than a plane that had several layovers. And that is not even account for the massive difference in speed.
