Just saw this guy on The Daily Show

Lee Siegel argues that our ever-deepening immersion in life online doesn't just reshape the ordinary rhythms of our days; it also reshapes our minds and culture, in ways with which we haven't yet reckoned.

To hear the guy you'd think we're all headed towards living in caves sealed off from each other only relating via computers and in totally inadequate ways. Sounds like he doesn't like the electronic life, or the always on connection. Read all about it on your Kindle. Yes, he's selling a Kindle version. Hope this sells 0 copies.

So, I can honestly savor the delicious irony that I'm leaving this comment from my apartment-I-haven't-left-in-4-days*/couch/laptop? Hilarious.

*granted, I've been sickly

But he seems to think that is a bad thing...

Dont' get me wrong, I agree it is deliciously ironic. I just get the feeling that the guy who wrote this thing can't get past the digital barrier, and he's freaking out that he may be cut off from society by scaring people into thinking we'll all be cut off. Yet one of his examples that he gave on the show is making a reservatin at a restuarant online, which of course will require you to leave your house and eat at the restaurant. He comes off as a complete luddite.
