Vista is worth the $200 to upgrade

While looking for the character map in the accessory folder of Vista, I found a little gem that I just have to share. Vista now has a Snipping Tool that enables you to capture parts of the screen, highlight and draw on top of it and copy or save the results. Some would say it's about time and that there's about a million freewares that do this already, I'm just happy to have found it right there in Windows.

[ Atlas and more : PrtSc now useless... or maybe not. ]

OK, maybe not worth the price of admission, but it is the best clip tool I've seen. And Vista does have a couple of other enhancements as well...

meh. There's even a firefox plugin to do it for websites... I'm in no hurry to upgrade. Those days are over for me. They always manage to hide a few important features by moving their locations since the previous version. And the less I know, the less people will bug me to help them with their computers :-)

I've been running vista since Dec on a couple pcs. One media center on my TV and one dev. Really like it on both. IIS7 gives you multiple websites running at once, which has been lacking in previous IIS. That is worth the time it took to install (MSDN thank you).

Oh, I love my Vista, highly recommend it to everyone. Everything that I've seen in RedHat and Apple that I like has been implemented in Vista, and Vista has some stuff that I'm sure will be borrowed into RedHat and Apple any day now.

LOL. I'm as crotchety as Jerry? I'll have to work on that. Maybe it's the job or lack of sleep or all of the above. I haven't heard of any features that have sold me on Vista though. I'm sure I'll get it eventually, when I'm forced to buy a new system or need to upgrade. Same thing happened with XP. I really haven't noticed much new that I need since Windows 2000.

Vista will really shine when the unwashed masses are all forced on to it. It is much harder to get a zombie SMTP server onto it, so we should all be able to enjoy much less spam.
