This guy didn't invent AJAX

But he did name it. And I think it works:

Q. Why did you feel the need to give this a name?

A. I needed something shorter than “Asynchronous+JavaScript+CSS+DOM+XMLHttpRequest” to use when discussing this approach with clients.

[ adaptive path ajax: a new approach to web applications ]

Props to Gibson for pointing out the "new" name for this approach.

For the record I HATE the name AJAX and the fact that someone popularized the name of what is essentially a wrapper for XMLHTTPRequest. I liked XMLHTTPRequest even tho it's a bitch to say. It describes the actual technique, not a name that someone may not be familiar with...

I'm confused. "Props to Doug" would indicate to me that Gibson mentioned this to you. However, I don't see any mention of ColdFusion...

Just remember how much JavaScript and CSS you learned from me, punk. Or do you even remember what they ARE anymore, "Mr. non-coding manager girliemon"?

"girliemon", is that Nate's Pokemon character? His power move is to sit you down in a meeting and fire you while lamenting the days gone by of once doing real work.

More likely Digimon. Post Pokémon don't have mon on the end of their name.

(Iman likes that stuff...)

So what you are saying is, if I can't find Nate, he is probably hanging out with Asian kids playing Digimon? Makes sense.

Either that or cleaning with some Ajax at home, ahhh, the discussion has come full circle, to some extent.
